Dr. Andrew Pratt is a Reader (Associate Professor) in the School of Physics, Engineering and Technology at the University of York where he leads the York Surface Science Laboratory. With research interests that focus on understanding and engineering the surface properties of nanomaterials for next-generation technologies, he specialises in a range of surface analysis techniques including the use of a beam of (spin-polarised) metastable helium atoms to study surface electronic, magnetic, and chemical properties. Material systems of interest include organic spinterfaces, nanoparticles, and 2D materials.
